Border Haunting part I & II, 2021-23

Part I (2021): Installation in the Living Room, at the Medical Museion, in Copenhagen.

Yearning to coalesce with the other-than-human, a luminous figure is calling you to an existential wandering at the border zones of our anthropoid being.….  to haunt the limits and possibilities of the human experience. Have a seat in the chimney corner and take some time to dwell in the video-sonic mind-scape.

The installation consists of looped video, projected onto a wall of the Living Room, for one person at a time to experience with the accompanying audio on headphones.

Part II (2023): I have worked to push the concept of “making-with” further through research into New Materialism, mycology, bacteria and environmental (eco-queer) philosophy. Practically, I have exposed the digitized version of Border Haunting part I onto 16mm film and cultivated this rendition with fungi/mycelium. This material has then been scratched, washed, dried for several months, scanned and re-edited.

This new (de-composed) version (Border Haunting part II) was screened in June 2023, for the first time in the Old Operating Theatre of the museum.
